Android and iOS Which is the most dominant smartphone market around the world



Kantar world panel released its latest report, which reveals market changes between Android and iOS. In the United States, Apple's operating system saw a significant increase in its market share, reaching 38.7% in the second quarter of 2018, an increase of 5.9% Over the same period 


last year, taking 1.2% of Windows's share and 4.7% of Android.

Apple's share is due to the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, both phones accounting for about 20 percent of all smartphone sales in the second quarter of 2018. Despite its high price, iPhone X came fourth in the top-selling phone list, Eight of the iPhone's top 10 phones came from the list.





Samsung and LG are the only other companies with a model on the list but have lost their strength compared to their performance in 2017.





Interestingly, of all the countries covered by Kantar research, Japan has the highest share of the IOS market with 42.9%. At the same time, Android has the strongest share in Argentina with 96.1%.





In Europe, Android remains the dominant operating system with between 75 and 90% of the market, except in the UK, where iOS has 35%.





In China, Apple still retains a fifth of the market, although down 2% from last year, the iPhone X is the best selling smartphone of 5.3%.
